Thunder and lightning it’s getting exciting down under! As the Aussies are gearing up to reveal their 2017 Eurovision act and entry for Kyiv, the rumour mill and local media are tipping X Factor winner Isaiah Firebrace as the hot favourite to represent Australia at the forthcoming 2017 Eurovision Song Contest.

SBS is set to reveal the 2017 Australian Eurovision entry and act tomorrow. Will it be Australian X Factor winner Isaiah Firebrace?

The young upcoming Aussie artist is currently the bookies hot favourite to represent Australia in the world’s biggest songfest. He has publicly declared his wish to compete in the contest. He is also signed to Sony Music Australia, the same company behind Dami Im (Australia 2016), Jessica Mauboy (Interval Act ESC 2014) and Guy Sebastian (Australia 2015).

Isaiah released his latest single It’s gotta be you last November and is thus eligible to compete in the contest as it complies with Eurovision rules.

It’s gotta be you has enjoyed massive success on the Spotify charts in more than 15 countries including Australia, Denmark, Norway, Canada, the US and Sweden, where the single is now Platinum.

There are other potential candidates on the table too: The Veronicas, Samantha Jade and Nathaniel Willemse, are all front runners who could defend the Aussie colours at the forthcoming Eurovsion Song Contest.

The suspense will be over tomorrow morning when SBS will disclose the mystery at 07.30 CET live from Melbourne.

Australia in Eurovision

Australia was invited to participate at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2015 when the country debuted in the competition with Guy Sebastian in Vienna. The Aussies have had an excellent kick off in the contest as they have placed 5th and 2nd in their 2 year ESC history.

Australia will be participating in the competition for the 3rd time. Mind you, they nearly walked away with the crown last year in Stockholm with Dami Im’s Sound of silence! What does the country have in store for us this year?….

Would you like to see Isaiah Firebrace represent Australia in Eurovision?
