Yohanna, the 18 year old Icelander who won Europe's hearts in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest has released her new album, Butterflies and Elvis, in Sweden and Norway through Warner Sweden. The album contains her Eurovision entry is it true and can now be bought online.

Yohanna placed second in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest with her soulful ballad Is it true which went on to chart in many countries around Europe, Switzerland, Belgium, Ireland and the UK apart from the Nordic countries. Today, Yohanna's new album, Butterflies and Elvis was released simultaneously in Norway and Sweden by her label Warner Sweden and more countries will follow soon.

The title song of the album is especially close to the young artist's heart as she herself states in her MySpace: "Butterflies and Elvis is really close to my heart. I wrote it in Los Angeles, I had been there for two months and I was feeling very lonely because I was alone there, working, and my boyfriend was in Iceland. At that time I got really inspired to write a song about him, so I sat down with my co-writer and out came “Butterflies and Elvis” , It has been my favorite ever since."

You can listen to snippets of the songs here.

Yohanna will be at the Stockholm pride in Sweden on 30th July.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain. I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
