In its Summer edition, Platine Magazine has Lara Fabian on its cover and published a 7-page exclusive interview, mostly dealing with the lady's latest album Toutes les femmes en moi.
Toutes Les Femmes En Moi, produced by musician Simon Climie (ex member of Bristish duet Climie Fisher), is a collection of 12 of Lara’s favorite songs, all created by French-speaking women.
In the record’s booklet, Lara Fabian writes a letter addressingevery oneof these ladies. To Céline Dion , she tells that when she was a teenager, she used to sing her songs at home and at school.
In the interview with Platin magazine, Lara clearly declares that there was no personal rivalry at all between Céline and her, only a rivalry fabricated by the media.
“There is no song by Patricia Kaas in your album, J.-P. Pasqualini, of Platine, asks, does it mean you are not impressed by her production ?”. “She has a great career, I was a big fan of her very first album, when I was 17. But I went to Eurovision, then left to Canada and couldn’t get to know her better, just like for Liane Foly, who brought something new to the end of the 80’s in France”.
“Kaas went to Eurovision this year, would you do it again”, the journalist asks. “No. But I understand Patricia Kaas’ decision. It’s magical and dangerous at the same time. Double or nothing ! That was positive for her”.Lara Fabian represented Luxembourg at the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest, with the song Croire and placed 4th.
