Manoeuvre wants Cindy Sander for France

A strange and somehow funny statement saw the light in French daily Le Parisien / Aujourd'Hui En France by rock critic Philippe Manoeuvre. The man – who is also one of the jurors of the French Pop Idol (Nouvelle Star) – declares that Cindy Sander should be chosen to represent France next year for the Eurovision Song Contest.

"To avoid another failure", Manoeuvre suggests : "Lacking in any sense of shame, we must send Cindy Sander to Eurovision. We need someone who is afraid of nothing. She has a great sense of melody, she proved it with her hit Papillon de lumière. With two dancers around and a glitter ball above, she'll be perfect. Let's have a petition on the Internet".

Last year, the same Cindy Sander officially said that she would accept any invitation to represent France and that this is one of her dreams.Cindy Sander tried her luck at the 2008 casting of La Nouvelle Star but was not selected for the final steps of the show. The girl then recorded the song Papillon de lumière, which earned a lot of success thanks to the Internet and many articles on how the girl was rejected by the jury. Her CD-single spent 20 weeks in the French Top 100, peaking at number 14.

Here's a Cindy Sander presentation, beginning with her performance at Pop Idol (Philippe Manoeuvre is the man with the sunglasses).
