Semi-final 2 of the Ukrainian national selection for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest is now over and we now know our next 2 finalists in the competition.
This evening saw the 8 semi-final 2 participants competing for a place in the grand final of the Ukrainian national selection for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest. The show was hosted by Sergiy Prytula live from the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
Tonight’s 2 qualifiers were determined via a combined 50% televote and 50% jury vote, each of which was revealed in detail towards the end of the show.
The 3-member jury panel who provided 50% of the vote consisted of the following:
- Konstantin Meladze: Composer and producer
- Andriy Danylko: Ukraine’s 2007 representative as Verka Serduchka
- Jamala: Winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2016
The results
Rozhden and Illaria placed in the top 2 of the jury vote; the televote agreed with Illaria’s qualification but also ranked Kuznetsov in the top 2. In the end, it was decided that Rozhden and Illaria would compete in the final of the selection alongside Tayanna and Salto Navad on the 25 February.

Combined votes

Next week sees the final 8 semi-finalists competing for a place in the grand final of the selection, but only 2 will make it through following a combined televote and jury vote.
