The Slovenian branch of OGAE reports that the Slovenian entrant to Eurovision Song Contest 2003, Karmen Stavec, has decided to perform her song in English in the contest.

Stavec won the Slovenian national final with Lep poletni dan. OGAE Slovenia now reports that the singer has opted for the english version of the song, Nanana, to be performed on stage in Riga.

According to the same source, Stavec explains her choice of English over Slovenian, because English is a universal language and most of the world understands it more than Sloevnian, a fact that will improve her chances at the contest.

The Slovenian entry will be the 26th and last song in the running order of the contest, which will also be the last song of the contest in it's current format, as it will change in 2004.
