RTS, the Serbian national broadcaster, has confirmed that the country’s representative for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest will be selected via an internal selection.

Confirming their participation in the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest back in October, RTS has today confirmed the country’s selection mechanism in order to select their entry for this year’s Kyiv-hosted competition.

Internal selection for Eurovision 2017

Serbia’s representative for 2017 will be determined via an internal selection, with a decision set to be made by representatives of the music editorial office in RTS.

Both the singer and song will be presented in March during a special presentation show on RTS, with a set date of the revelation set to be revealed in due course.

This is the second year in a row that RTS has opted to select Serbia’s Eurovision representative via an internal selection, with the 2016 act Sanja Vučić ZAA together with her entry Goodbye (Shelter) also being selected through the same mechanism.

Serbia will compete in the first half of the second semi-final of the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest on the 11 May in a bid to qualify to the Grand Final of the competition on the 13 May at the International Exhibition Centre in Kyiv.
