Who will be representing France in Kyiv? As rumors continue to spark light on eventual participants they also say about who will not be going to Eurovision!

Now that we know 4 acts for Eurovision 2017 and are waiting to know another one tonight from Finland. Many speculations have been going on about the possible French representative and there are some answers.

Who could go to Kyiv for France?

French media most speculated Slimane who is a 27 year old author and composer who won the latest season of The Voice in France. The second most possible entrant is Florent Mothe who is 35 years old and is also an author and composer who mostly does musical shows such as Rock in chair, La légende du Roi Arthur and Mozart l’opéra rock

Other names such as Tal or Eugiène were mentionned without further attention.

Who is definitely not going to Kyiv?

French reports state that Slimane has refused France Télévision‘s offer to go to Eurovision in Kyiv next May. France will make their decision in March and then we will get to know who it will be for Kyiv

France in Eurovision

France have participated in Eurovision since 1956 being one of the first countries. They have appeared a total of 59 times and have won the contest 5 times. They reached 6th place in 2016 putting them back in the Top 10 for the first time since Patricia Kaas in 2009 who finished 8th.

The French nation were more successfull in the 20th century as of recent years having reached the bottom of the list in 2014
