The Swiss singer Sebalter, who represented his homeland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014, has spoken of a recent emotional encounter in the Swiss wilderness.
Whilst out on a recent mountain hike, Sebalter saw a young boy and his mother sat on a bench outside a mountain hut. Neither the boy nor his mother recognised him, and the Swiss singer broke out into a spontaneous serenade with the six-year-old.
It was not until much later that Sebalter’s management received an email from the boy’s mother, in which she wrote that she had only just learned who had made her son so happy that day.
“She wrote that our meeting will be remembered as her most beautiful experience of her year” said the 31-year-old singer. He was particularly pleased to learn that the boy has started playing the guitar because of his encounter. “I got goosebumps when I read that, that’s fantastic!”
The most beautiful thing in existence as a musician is the sharing of emotions, and without music I would not have such experiences.
Sebalter will release his new album Awakening on 20 January. He reached 13th place at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Denmark with his song Hunter for stars.
