CYBC, the Cypriot national broadcaster has confirmed to ESCToday that the 2017 Cypriot Eurovision representative Hovig will be flying to Yerevan, Armenia this weekend where he has been invited to perform at the 2017 Armenian national final- Depi Evratesil on Saturday 24 December.

This Saturday on Christmas Eve the Armenians will be selecting their Eurovision representative for Kyiv during Depi Evratesil’s Grand Final. A total of 2 acts will battle for the golden ticket to Kyiv next Saturday. Arstvik and Marta will be competing against each another in their quest to fly to Ukraine next May.

Hovig will be a special guest at the 2017 Armenian Eurovision national final. The show will be hosted by Ms. Gohar Gasparyan and will be aired on AMPTV 1. Hovig was born in Cyprus and is of Armenian descent.

Hovig was selected via an internal selection by CyBC in order to represent Cyprus at the 2017 ESC in Kyiv. His entry will be produced by none other than Mr. Thomas Gson.

 The 2017 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled on 9, 11 and 13 May at the IEC in Kyiv, Ukraine.
