ORF, the Austrian national broadcaster has annnounced today that Nathan Trent will represent Austria at the forthcoming 2017 Eurovision Song Contest.
Thus Austria is the 7th country to reveal its act for Kyiv. ORF has gone internal for 2017 in order to select its Eurovision entry and act.
The 2017 Austrian Eurovision entry will be released in February. Nathan Trent is a young multi taltented singer who hails from Innsbruck, Austria his debut single I like it has become a hit in Austria.
Nathan writes, composes, arranges and sings his own songs. He is bilingual speaking German, French, Italian and English.
Nathan Trent is a singer and songwriter in the genre Pop and R’n’B. Born in Innsbruck in 1992, he grew up in a family of artists. He is very pleased and proud to represent Austria at the upcoming Eurovision edition:
I’ve been working since childhood to present myself as an artist, singer and songwriter and now I have got the opportunity to do so. I can not put into words what is happening here anymore. My goal is to represent Austria the best way possible, to go to the final and touch the audience with my music during my three minutes on the stage!
In 2016 Austria opted for a national selection in order to select its Eurovision act and entry for Stockholm. The young and beautiful Zoe won the golden ticket to fly the Austrian flag at the 2016 ESC with her entry L’oin d’ici. She achieved a 13th place in the grand final.
Austria debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1957 and has won the competition twice in 1966 with Udo Jurgens and in 2014 with Conchita Wurst.
The 2017 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled 9, 11 and 13 May at the IEC in Kyiv, Ukraine.
