Eurovision 2017: NTU to audition potential hosts

NTU, the Ukrainian national broadcaster has revealed that the 2017 Eurovision hosts will selected via a special selection, auditions for the potential hosts are to be held in Kyiv in due course.

Ms. Victoria Romanova (Executive Producer Eurovision 2017) shed more light on the ongoing preparations for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest during the news telecast on NTU’s Channel 1. She commented that the auditions for the 2017 Eurovision hosts will kick off in Kyiv in due course.

She didn’t disclose the names of the potential candidates but went on to say that the hopefuls have been scrutinised and interviewed by the broadcaster in the past weeks. Ms. Romanova also mentioned the the 2017 ESC hosts have to fit in with the idea and concept of the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest along with the image of Ukraine. They will play a key role in representing the host nation and thus showcasing the true essence of the country and concept of the competition.

The potential candidates have to excel in languages and have to be both dynamic and charming. Timur Miroschnichenko and Tatiana Terekhova are among the hot favorites to belt out the role of hosting the forthcoming Eurovision edition. Both Ukrainian stars have great experience when it comes to Eurovision, having commentated the competition for NTU many times. Timur has hosted JESC twice when Ukraine hosted the event.

The 2017 Eurovision logo and slogan will be disclosed by NTU by the end of December, they have been already been evaluated and approved by the EBU. The 2017 Eurovision stage design will be revealed in January. You can check the 2017 Eurovision timeline for more information.

The Eurovision Song Contest will be returning to the majestic Ukrainian capital for the 2nd time in  Eurovision history.

The 2017 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 9, 11 and 13 May at the IEC in Kyiv, Ukraine.
