“To hold the love of your audience is a huge privilege. I am a happy man” Says Amir, France’s representative for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest after winning the MTV EMA 2016 as the best French act.

If the love from his local audience wasn’t enough before the Eurovision Song Contest, and although being a favourite to win and finishing 6th in the final (which is France’s best result since 2002), Amir’s career did not stop as he performed his entry J’ai cherché in the opening concert of UEFA Euro 2016 that was held in France, nominated to this year’s NRJ Music Awards twice and his album that was released shortly before Eurovision, Au cœur de moi got a platinum certification and charted in France, Belgium and Switzerland.

Amir won the prize by the votes of MTV’s followers over the other nominees: Frero Delavega, Jain, Maitre Gims and Nekfeu.
