Georgia: GPB opts for a national final for Eurovision 2017

GBP, the Georgian national broadcaster has announced today that it will be opting for a national final in order to select its Eurovision act and entry for Kyiv. The period for artists to submit their application in order to partake in the competition kicks off on Monday 7 November.

Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) has launched its national selection procedure in order to select the 2017 Georgian Eurovision representative.

Professional Singers – Soloists and Groups from across Georgia can take part in the national final.  Singers wishing to compete in the national final can send in their application along with their respective entry songs, a photo and CV to the Georgian broadcaster from 7 November- 7 December 2016 to the address below:

In 2016 Geoorgia opted for an internal selection in order to select its Eurovision act. Nika Kocharov and the Young Georgian Lolitaz flew the Georgian flag in Stockholm with their entry Midnight gold.

Georgia debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007 and is yet to win the event. The country achieved its best results in the competition in 2010 and 2011 when it placed 9th in the Grand Final.

The 2017 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held in Kyiv, Ukraine on 9, 11 and 13 May.
