BTRC, the Belarusian national broadcaster has announced today that Belarus will once again opt for a national final in order to select its Eurovision act and entry.
BTRC will be publishing the rules and regulations for the 2017 Belarusian national selection on Friday 4 November. Thus the submission period for artists and composers wishing to represent Belarus at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest and partake in the national final kicks off tomorrow.
The 2017 Belarusian entry and act will be determined by a 50/50 jury-public televoting deliberation.
In 2016 Belarus opted for a national selection in order to select its Eurovision entry and act. Ivan won the golden ticket to Stockholm with Help you fly. Despite an extraordinary performance he failed to qualify to the Grand Final.
Belarus debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004 and is yet to win the competition. The country achieved its best placing in the contest in 2007 with Koldun.
The 2017 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 9, 11 and 13 May at the IEC in Kyiv, Ukraine.
