Christina Metaxa, the 16 year old singer who will be representing Cyprus in the 2009 Eurovision Song contest is currently at the final stages of the preparations of the stage presentation for Firefly and is ready to embark on her promo tour.
Christina. under the guidance of Art Director Mr Photis Nicolaou, is working daily on the stage presentation and concept of her act. The team who will support her on stage has been finalised and it is now confirmed that her brother Nikolas, who is also the composer of Firefly, will be with her in Moscow as a part of the backing vocal team.
Chrsitina and her team will soon be embarking on a promo tour around Europe to promote Firefly. On the 17th April, she will be attending the UK Eurovision Preview Party at La Scala in London. While in London she will be interviewed by London Greek Radio and the CyBC local camera crew. For the next two days Christina will be in Amsterdam where she will be performing at the Eurovision in Concert party on the 18th. Christina's last stop will be Ukraine where she will spend four days before she returns home for her final rehearsals before she leaves for Moscow on 4th May.
Christina has launched a special website, entirely dedicated to the Cypriot Eurovision bid this year. At christinametaxa.com , fans can find out all about Christina and Firefly, through the various sections available. The lyrics of the song are presented in many languages, ie Greek, Russian, Serbian, Spanish, Polish and French.
The UKeurovision Preview Party takes place once again at Scala, Kings Cross, London on Friday 17th April.
