Eurovision 2017: Kharkiv officially applies to host the contest

NTU, the Ukrainian national broadcaster has confirmed today that Kharkiv is the fifth city to officially apply to host the forthcoming 2017 Eurovision Song Contest.

Preparations in Ukraine for Eurovision 2017 are in full swing as the country gears up to welcome to Eurovision bandwagon next year.

Kharkiv thus joins Odessa, Kyiv, Dnipro , Lviv in the list of Ukrainian cities that have officially applied to host the 2017 ESC.

Kharkiv is the 2nd largest city of Ukraine and is located in the north east of the country.

The complete list of bidding cities that have applied to host the 2017 ESC will be revealed by NTU on 8 July after 18:00 local time.

The 2017 Eurovision host city bidding race kicked off on 24 June and will conclude on 1 August, it will consist of 4 stages. Cities wishing to officially bid to host the 2017 ESC edition can officially apply until 8 July.

Bidding cities have to comply with the rules and regulations of the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest and the requirements to host the event.

The preliminary dates for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest have been set on 9, 11 and 13 May.
