United Kingom Eurovision Song Contest fans from across the Midlands and the North West of England are gearing up for their first glimpse of the increasingly popular Boom Bang a Bang Preview event. The event, which is organised by Eurovision fan Paul Marks-Jones, and held in Manchester for the past two years, has been such a success that he is now taking the event also to Liverpool and to Birmingham.
Paul who runs events organising company Eventuality said: When I hear people saying there is no interest in Eurovision Song Contest in the UK, I think they don't know what they are talking about judging by how many people have been coming along to the event in Manchester. At the previous events we’ve had people travelling the length and breadth of the country and demand for tickets exceeded the venue capacity. By holding events in different cities I aim to have as many Eurovision fans as possible viewing the previews and getting into the Eurovision spirit.
This year I’ve teamed up with Schlagertastic for the Birmingham event, which is bound to add a new element to the proceedings there, and for Liverpool the stylish surroundings of G Bar’s Love Lounge have been selected.
At all three of this year's events fans and those coming along will be able to vote on all the songs at May's Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow on May 16. It will be interesting to see if the three cities agree on which should proceed to the final of the contest All the events will take a similar format with preview shows, voting, drinks offers, flag waving as well as an all request Eurovision Disco and prizes with a distinct Eurovision theme.
