Tonight, the Slovakian national final for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest will be held. 16 acts will present one song each and the winner will be come the fourth Slovakian entrant in the competition.
The show
The show to be aired on STV1 will start at 20:15 CET andit will be hosted by Martin Rausch. 16 acts will present one song each and the winner will be chosen by televoting alone.

Slovakia will return to the Eurovision Song Contest after eleven years. The last participation to date came in 1998, when Katarina Hasprová finished 21st with her entry Modlitba getting eight points in total and all of them from Croatia. In 2009, the country will take part in the second semi final on 14th May.
