With the help of an attent visitor of esctoday.com, we became aware of a new, turbulent situation surrounding the Romanian national final Euroviziune 2003, which will take place tonight. The entry Costi Ionita (pictured) was supposed to perform, Dominus, which was accused of being a translated version of the Russian song Ty prosti by the group Hi-Fi, has been disqualified from the competition. The producer of the event, Nicoleta Ilie, confirmed in an e-mail to esctoday.com that there will be only ten participating entries in tonight's Romanian final.

Earlier this week, Aurelian Temisan had to withdraw the ballad Goodbye hello goodbye because he wanted to avoid a split of televotes between his two entries. An explanation which was reconfirmed in the e-mail.

The broadcast of the show will be divided into three, with the first sequence starting at 20:00 local time. Second part is set for 21:05, while the third and last will begin at 22:10. Hosts of the evening will be Kitty Cepraga and Leonard Miron. Nicola is still the one and only favourite to win with Don't break my Heart, which has captured approximately 43% of almost 400 votes cast so far in TVR's own poll (08:40).
