Virginia, the Bilbao based singer who achieved a 2nd place at last Saturday's Spanish Eurovision semifinal Eurovision 2009, El Retorno has released the preview video of her entry True Love. She will be competing next Saturday the 28th of February at the Spanish 2009 Eurovision national final. Virginia is the niece of Rafael Artesero, the composer behind the 2005 and 2006 Andorran Eurovision entries. He has also composed Virginia's bidding entry at the Spanish Eurovision national final.
Rafael Artesero was also behind La reina de la noche, which achieved a 2nd place in the Spanish national final in 2007 Mision Eurovision. Mirela missed out on representing Spain in 2007 with his song. This year Rafael Artesero is back with a ballad, True love.
Virginia tried her luck last year to represent Spain by competing in the Salvemos Eurovision online selection with the song Estrella errante. As we all know she didn't have luck on homesoil, and thus failed to qualify for the Spanish Eurovision 2008 national final. She went to on to participate at the Suncane Scale Festival in Montenegro with the same song Wandering star. This year she has set her eyes on representing Spain at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow, hence battling fora ticket to Moscow at the Spanish 2009 Eurovision national final next Saturday.
