After the tremendous success with the UKeurovision Preview Party last year, organisers have confirmed that the event will return to Scala on Friday 17th April 2009. Last year, over one quarter of the competing Eurovision song Contest performers came to London to play at a sell-out concert arena. They were joined by Bucks Fizz, Nanne Gronvall and Paul Oscar.
The UKeurovision Preview Party 2has been confirmed for Friday 17th April, one day before the Eurovision concert in The Netherlands. It will be held at La Scala, Pentonville Road, London, the same venue as last year. Further information will be made available next week along with an updated website, including information about ticket sales, hosts and performers and media accreditation. Organisers have also promised an annoucement tomorrow night at the UKeurovision Schlager Party taking place at The Enclave, where the BBC will be filming interviews with party goers. Tickets for tommorrow's event are still available from the www.schlagerparty.co.uk website.
Last year, the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest representatives Morena from Malta, Ruslan from Belarus, Maria from Norway, Ani Lorak from Ukraine, Nico & Vlad from Romania, Laka from Bosnia Herzegovina, Euroband from Iceland, Isis Gee from Poland and Sirusho from Armenia.
They were joined on stage by guest appearances from Dustin the Turkey from Ireland and Andy Abraham from the United Kingdom. Special guests were 1981 Eurovision Song Contest winners Bucks Fizz (United Kingdom), Nanne Gronvall (Sweden) and Paul Oscar (Iceland). the night was brilliantly hosted by UK semi final commentator, Paddy O'Connell.
