Slovakia: Another three acts chosen for the final

Tonight, the third semi final of the Slovakian selection for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest was held. Ten songs were presented and three of them were chosen to move forward to the national final on 8th March. Two songs were chosen by televoting and a third one by the jury.

The following songs qualified through the televoting:

  • Robo OpatovskýPrší
  • Peter Bazík & Andrea SulovskáNebudem stát

The following song was the jury choice:

  • Komajota 7 nocí

  2. Peter Bazík & Andrea Sulovská – 20.8%
  3. G-Strinx – 17.8%
  4. Katka Košcová – 7.7%
  5. Milan Lieskovský -7.6%
  6. Komajota – 6.1%
  7. Ivana Kovácová – 4.7%
  8. ENS – 4.1%
  9. Dáša Šarkozyová – 3.1%
  10. Roman Galo Galvánek -2.4% poll results

The poll voters did not agree with the voters in the semi final. None of the three semi final qualifiers was in the top three of the poll. Poll winner Katka Košcová was eliminated just like runner-upMilan Lieskovský.

Slovakia will return to the Eurovision Song Contest after eleven years. The last participation to date came in 1998, when Katarina Hasprová finished 21st with her entry Modlitba getting eight points in total and all of them from Croatia. In 2009, the country will take part in the second semi final on 14th May.
