Bulgaria: Krassimir Avramov to Eurovision

Tonight, the Bulgarian national final for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest was held. After twelve semi finals, three quarter finals and a semi final, it was decided that Krassimir Avramov will represent the country in Moscow with the song Illusion.

Krassimir Avramov was not one of the acts that had taken part in the heats and quarter finals as he was one of the jruy wildcard directly qualified for the semi final.He is asoprano with an impressive 4-octave range who has been living and working in the United States since 1999. Singer and soul legend Lionel Ritchie said about him: "When I first heard his voice I thought it was computer enhanced or something. But when I heard him live…man, it really blew me away. He is truly a rare talent."

The esctoday.com poll voters widely agreed with the choice as Krassimir Avramov was second in the poll with 22.6%, only 0.7% behind Mariana Popova.

Krassimir Avramovthe successor of Deep Zone & DJ Balthazar, who represented Bulgaria in the 2008 Eurovision Song Contestbut failed to qualify to the final with DJ, take me away finishing 11th in the second semi final. In 2009, the country will take part in the first semi final on 12th May.
