Tonight, Malta will conclude its selection for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. After eight semi finals, the 56 entries in the competition were narrowed down to 20 and these will be performed in Malta Song for Europe tonight. The winning act will become Malta's 22nd entrant in the contest.

The show

The show to be broadcast on TVM will start at 20:40 CET and it will be hosted by Valerie Vella and Pablo Micallef at the Malta Fairs & Convention Centre in Ta' Qali. A total of 20 songs by 20 different acts will be presented and the winner is to be chosen in two rounds of voting. In the first round, an expert jury will select the top three songs and in the second round, televoting alone will decide the eventual winner.

Morena represented Malta in the second semi final in Belgrade, where she finished 14th with Vodka. The country will take part in the first semi final of the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest on 12th May.
