The German entry in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest will be revealed on Monday. As announced earlier, for the first time since 1995, both singer and song were chosen internally as a temporary solution after a series of unsuccessful attempts.

The entry will be revealed on broadcaster NDR's official website at 15:00 CET here. Head of delegation Ralf Quibeldy had told: "We have received a high number of interesting applications … the jury now has a lot to look at and of course to listen to."Quibeldy will also appear in a special online chat to discuss the decision.

Germany has taken part in the Eurovision Song Contest since the first edition in 1956 and has chosen an entry every year since, but was eliminated during the internal semi final in 1996. In recent years, the country was not very succesful finishing in the second half of the scoreboard every year since 2005. Last year, girl group No Angels finished 23rd and hence equal last with Disappear.
