Almir Ajanović, the executive producer of BH Eurosong and the composer of the Bosnian entry Ljubav je was involved in a violent incident against the Bosnian representatives, during recordings for a TV program in Vlašić Mountain. It was decided that the preparations for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 will continue as planned.

During the fight, the Bosnian singer Šaćir Ahmeti, which is not related to the Eurovision Song Contest, was injured. Jala and Dalal were attacked as well but they later on wrote in their Facebook accounts that they are fine.

The future for Bosnia & Herzegovina’s participation in this year’s contest was in danger for a while as some sources said that the country might decide to withdraw. Lejla Babovic, the Head of Delegation of BHRT, has commented right after the incident, saying “This is an internal matter between BHRT and the working team. In any case, someone who has such criminal charges certainly can not be on the team that goes to the Eurovision Song Contest.”

BHRT has decided that Almir Ajanović will not be a part of the delegation that will travel to Stockholm. The decision was made after obtaining information from Travnik’s Police Department regarding the incident, with keeping in mind that the representatives themselves were victims of the attack and did not initiate the incident that occurred, as well as with taking in mind the hard work and funds that were invested for the participating of Bosnia & Herzegovina and the support of the national public.

Intensive rehearsals will continue to take place in the studio of BHRT, with the musical producer Adnan Mušanović, and the director Haris Pasovic.

In an open letter to BHRT, Almir Ajanović has apologised to the broadcaster and to the representatives, and announced his withdrawal from the project. “I apologize to the citizens of this country in hope that this will not affect our performance in Stockholm”, wrote Almir among other things, in this open letter.

Dalal & Deen feat. Ana Rucner and Jala will sing Almir Ajanović’s song Ljubav je in the first semifinal of the contest on 10 May.
