Tonight, the third elimination show and hence the semi final of the United Kingdom's national selection for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest will be held. The remaining four acts compete to be among the three who will reach the final. Eurovision: Your Country Needs You is the search for the singer(s) who will perform the song written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Diane Warren.

The show

The four acts that qualified last week will perform two songs each live with an orchestra. Televoting will then decide the two acts to move forward to the next round. Andrew Lloyd Webber will then choose who of the bottom two will be eliminated from the competition.The show to be broadcast on BBC ONE will start at 19:30CET (18:30 local time) and it will be hosted by Graham Norton, who follows in the footsteps of Terry Wogan.

The show will also feature a masterclass from Emma Bunton (Baby Spice of the Spice Girls) who will join the Euro Mission to help the acts turn their performances into Eurovision spectaculars. Strictly Come Dancing UK winner Aleshia Dixon will perform a live performance of her new single.

The United Kingdom was represented in the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest by Andy Abraham, who finished equal 23rd and hence last in the final with Even if.
