Netherlands: Dutch snippets online

The Dutch representatives for this year's Eurovision Song Contest, De Toppers, appeared yesterday in RTL tv-show Life And Cooking. After singing a short piece of Everybody Can Be A Star, one of their six entries for the Dutch national Final, they were obliged to sing snippets of the other 5 songs as well.

Dutch hopefuls René Froger, Jeroen van der Boom and Gordon couldn't pick a mutual favourite song. According to De Toppers all six songs are quality songs, which were selected by themselves out of 350 songs. Once they sang a small part of one selected song, they were forced to sing parts of the other 5 songs as well, because disproportionate promotion of any song in particular isn't allowed by Dutch broadcaster NOS.

The Dutch final will take place on February 1 and will be hosted by Jack van Gelder. The show will be broadcasted live from Studio 22at 20.20 pm. The winning song will be announced around 22.20 pm. Many former Dutch representatives are supposed to show up as well. The Dutch entry for Moscow will be selected by televoting and a jury which represents the 12 Dutch provinces.

Preliminary to the Dutch final, our partnersite will organise a Teadance Toppers Preparty in Hilversum. The party will start at 14.00 pm and take place at the Grolsch Sport Café, nearby Studio 22. Tickets will cost € 7,00 in presale and € 20,00 for those who want to have dinner as well. More information can be found here.
