Belarus: Ivan wins national final!

The fourth entry for the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest has been decided this evening as Ivan wins the Belarusian national final with his entry, Help you fly.

This evening, a total of 10 acts competed in the Belarusian national final for the right to represent their country at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest. Both Olga Ryzhikova and Belarus’ 2014 representative Teo hosted the event live at the 600 Metrov studio in Minsk.

Following the performances by the bidding artists, it was solely down to the public to decide who should represent the nation via a national televote. During the voting period, a number of guests were invited to perform during the interval including the hosts Olga and Teo along with Gunesh, Sasha Nemo, Kattie and Belarus’ 2013 representative Alyona Lanskaya.

The voting revealed a very close result in tonight’s national final, however it was Ivan who was crowned the eventual winner of the event with a total of 23,167 votes, going on to represent Belarus at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest with his song, Help you fly. Napoli finished in a close second with 22,399 votes while Kirill Yermakov was ranked in third place.
