The Moldavian preselection of songs for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest is now under way. 39 songs have been submitted, two of which have been composed by foreigners. All the songs submitted for the Moldavian national selection are now available on TRM's official website. Visitors can listen to the songs and discuss them, and even vote on them!

From November 10 to December 20, 39 applications for participation were submitted, including two requests from foreign composers. The materials are being reviewed to make sure they meet all the requirements.

The Moldavian national selection will have two stages. In the first stage, a jury shall listen to the material submitted. The jury will include performers, composers,lyricists and producers. A maximum of twenty performers will be determined for the subsequent phase (the number will be subject to the voting jury). This phase will take placeuntil 31 December 2008.

Within 45 days from the day of the first stage, the second phase will begin. TRM will broadcast the songs live,transmitted on Moldova1 TV station and TV Moldova International. Interpretations must contain the basic elements of the development stage. Voting for this stage will be determined equally from the jury's decision profile, the results of the committee and televoting data from TRM.
