LIVE

The show has started. Many people state that the opening acts are often better than the competing songs – this time Te tries to impress the audience. Indeed the song is catchy and the vocals strong, but of course the entry is not in the running to represent Bulgaria in Moscow.

1. Vatticana – Sun is shining

This song is of course not a cover version of the famous Bob Marley song of the same title. Vatticana present a straightforward stomp rock song. Thelead singer's voice seems not to be strong enough for the rock song and does not manage to create a rock atmosphere on stage. The overallperformance is kept very simple with the band dressed all in black. Similar songs in Be a star have not done very well so Vatticana might not have the biggest chances for a top position tonight.

2. Anna Star – Stranger

Anna Star (if that's her real name?) presents a rather chaotic mixture of pop, country and swing. Her voice has a high recognition value but is pretty shrieky and the vocals are definitely not flawless. It's Alanis Morissette meets Dolly Parton meets Jessica Simpson. A somewhat charming entry that is hard on the edge of being more of a comedic than of a musical attempt.

3. Svetozar Hristov – Barrow from the shadow

Svetozar is no stranger to the Bulgarian selection. This time, he presents a rather simple pop melody that is overlaid by a rather strange and hectic electronic arrangement and very loud vocals. The performance is very simple with the singer sitting on a bar stool and it is not quite what you expect for such a song. William Shakespeare would say: Much ado about nothing.

4. Just Elly – My song

Her song has a rather interesting and catchy melody but the arrangement does not sound very professional and does not work with the song. The singer moves around the stage as if she felt not at ease at all. Probably one of the entries that has hidden potential but needs a lot of work.

5. Tedu Karavacheva – Don't look for me

The intro of this song is rather promising but it already turns slightly monotonous during the first verse. It is not clear where the chorus starts and the song could need a more obvious hookline. Nevertheless, despite the shaky vocals and the fake US American atmosphere, this is probably the most professional entry tonight and should have chances to make it to the quarter final.

As always, we now have to go through a series of interval acts before the results will be presented.

The results:

  1. Tedu Karavacheva – 49.11%
  2. Vatticana – 34.96%
  3. Svetozar Hristov – 10.30% (jury choice)
  4. Anna Star – 4.87
  5. Just Elly – 0.66%
