Seven more artists to compete in Melodifestivalen 2009 were revealed today by Swedish national broadcaster, SVT. Of the latest acts confirmed to be in the running to represent Sweden at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest, there is a swedish rocker and an TV Fame Factory participant among others. We also see a former Swedish Junior Eurovision Song Contest participant amongst the names.

Seven more songs have now an artist connected to them. All of the artists revealed today are competing in the competition for the very first time. They are:

Mikael Rickfors – Du vinner over mig
Mikeal had an active career in the 1980s. His biggest hit was the rock song Vingar. In the 1990s he was a member of the group Grymlings. Hehas never been in Melodifestivalen before as a solo artist, but was in the backing choirfor Tomas Ledin in1980.

HEAT – 1000 Miles
H.E.A.T is a hardrock group that released the debut album earlier this year. They have been special guest on live shows for TOTO and Alice Cooper. They are planning a tour for next yearwith Edguy. This is the song that Swedish media had expected to be performed by The Poodles and Martin Stenmarck as his brother is one of the song writers.

Molly Sandén – Så vill stjärnorna
Shetook third place atthe Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2006 with the song Det finaste någon kan få. Readers of esctoday.com were so impressed they awarded her a clean sweep in all Junior Eurovision award categories, winningBestsinger, Best Song and Best performance inthe 2006 esctoday.com awards. She has also sung duets with Ola Svensson, in the song Du är musiken i mig from the soundtrack to High School Musical 2, and with Magnus Carlsson last christmas. In 2007 and 2008 she toured with the concert Diggiloo with Linda Bengtzing among others. She is known to have one of the most powerful ballad voices in Sweden and is still the tender age of sixteen.

Maja Gullstrand – Här för mig själv
She was in the talent show Fame Factory in 2003-2004. She has released a jazz album called Hemligheter on Bert Karlssons record label. This year she released her second album, it was called Cirkus. Her voice is seen as unique and she will bring something different to the competition.

Next 3 – Esta Noche
Next 3 is a group from Norrköping, Jimmy Almgren, Adam Soliman och Gonzalo Flores, all threeare 17 years old.

Jonathan Fagerlund – Welcome to my life
Another teenage hearthrobJonathan has already had some hits in Sweden. The single Playing me was his first number one on Itunes download chart.

Rigo & The Topaz Sound feat. Red Fox – I got you
Rigo begin his career in the group The Latin Kings and continue his work with the hip hop group Infinite Mass that had some hits. He also released some solo songs and together with Crossfire.
