Tickets for the Melodifestivalen shows, Sweden's Eurovision Song Contest selection series, will go on sale at 9am local time on Friday 24th October. Ticket sales in recent years have been swift, with the tickets for the final at the Globen Arena selling out in under 30 minutes in 2008.
Ticket sales will be through the ticnet website at www.ticnet.se and will be available from 09:00 CET next Friday. On Tuesday, SVT announced the 28 songs selected by the jury. These songs will compete alongside four wild card entries to be announced at the end of the year.
Tickets will go on sale for all six shows:
- 07th February -First heat in Scandinavium, Göteborg
- 14th February – Second heat in Skellefteå Kraft Arena, Skellefteå
- 21st February -Third heat in Ejendals Arena, Leksand
- 28th February -Fourth heat in Malmö Arena, Malmö
- 07th March -Andra Chansen in Himmelstalundshallen, Norrköping
- 14th March -Final Melodifestivalen 2009 in Globen, Stockholm
This year, 3440 songs were submitted to the competition, a new record for the show and for any Eurovision Song Contest national final in history. These were whittled down to 28 by the jury.
