Sergey Lazarev, the latest Russian sensation in the Russian music industry, shone at the 2008 Jurmala New Wave Song Festival with his unique and extraordinary perfomances as well as being one of the hosts of the show. The New Wave Song Festival was held in Jurmala, Latvia from the 23-28 of July attracting celebrities and singers from Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia to mention a few.

Sergey Lazarev shot to fame some years back when he was the one half of the famous Russian duo SMASH along with Vlad Topalev. Today Sergey pursues a solo career and is among Russia's most sought after singers having achieved great musical success on home soil in Russia and abroad, having released songs in the U.K.

The multi talented and dymanic Sergey tried his luck this year to represent Russia at the Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade with his song Flyer, his song only achieved a 4th place and was beaten by Dima Bilan's Believe.

Sergey has been busy touring, giving concerts and performing at various show and important musical shows in Russia since then. He was seen at the MUZTV awards recently, and last week he co hosted the New Wave Song Festival in Jurmala.
