6,38 million people followed the Eurovision Song Contest final on Saturday. This means more than one million people less than last year followed the competition on screen. Nevertheless, it was still the most watched program on Saturday with a strong market share of 27.9%.

The show was especially popular among the younger viewers where the market share accounted for 33.9 %, which is more than the final of the latest season of "German Idol" scored one week ago. However, 6.38million viewers mean the lowest viewing figures since 1999, when Sürpriz represented Germany and finished 3rd. Two years ago, when Texas Lighning represented the country with the hit song No no never, more than ten million people followed the show; last year about 7.5 million people tuned in.

On Saturday, the No Angels represented Germany with the song Disappear and finished 23rd.
