After sunny Malta and before Lisbon and London, DJ Balthazar and Deep Zone, the Bulgarian representatives in the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest flew off to Istanbul where a tight promo schedule was laid out for them. DJ Take me away, their entry for Belgrade, is now on rotation on MTV Turkey.

During their visit in Turkey, the Bulgarian representatives enjoyed extensive media coverage in five of the most popular Turkish daily newspapers as well as on prime time news on TV and radio shows. DJ Balthazar and Deep Zone were invited to perform their entry DJ Take me away on the central news bulletin of Show TV as well as on the News of the biggest private Turkish TV – ATV. In the evening, the band enjoyed a relaxed dinner together with press and media hosted by Hakan Yalcinkaya, of OGAE Turkey, organiser of their media appearances. On Saturday, the band appeared on Aynadan yansıyanlar – the most viewed entertainment talk show of the public Turkish television TRT, which reaches up to 250 million viewers all over the world. During the show they performed an acoustic version of DJ Take me away and also did their own version of belly dancing to the delight of the audience present.

As a special bonus, Balthazar, Joanna and Dian got invited by MTV Turkey for an interview. Impressed by the video of DJ, Take Me Away, the MTV musical editors decided to include the Bulgarian track for regular rotation on MTV.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
