Eight finalists have been announced today by a judges' panel, including The British Academy Of Composers and Songwriters, the BBC and music industry experts, completing the first stage of the selection process for the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 entry of the United Kingdom.
The eight finalists will be played on Wake Up To Wogan and The Ken Bruce Show on BBC Radio 2 between Monday 27th and Thursday 30th January. All eight entries will be played again on Friday 31st January between 8.30 and 9.00 in the morning on a special show hosted by Terry Wogan and Ken Bruce. Listeners have a chance to vote for their favourite entry from 9.00 until 11.00. Internet users will also be able to listen and vote for their favourite song by registering on the official BBC website.
Following the voting, four finalists will be announced at 11.15 on The Ken Bruce Show on Friday 31st January and they will go through to the next round of the competition and compete on A Song For Europe on BBC ONE in March. The presenter and format for the show will be announced in February
