Marios Skordis, responsible for Eurovision Song Contest for the Cypriot broadcaster CyBC, told esctoday.com that the Cypriot entry would be determined through an open competition with an internal selection.

Anyone can submit songs until 20 January. A jury of three people will then select the winning entry and the two runners up. “No other names will be disclosed, only the top 3. This means no national final will be held”, Skordis told esctoday.com. He also pointed out that the songwriter and composer must be Cypriot, although the performer's citizenship doesn't matter.

The Cypriot entry for the Eurovision Song Contest will be announced around 4 February.
