SVT, the Swedish national broadcaster has revealed the venue for the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest Opening Ceremony

The 2016 Eurovision Song Contest Opening Ceremony will be held at Stockholm’s City Hall (Stadhus). The City Hall also hosted the Opening Ceremony/ Welcome Reception in 2000 when Stockholm played host to the 2000 Eurovision Song Contest.

Mr. Christer Bjorkman, SVT’s ESC 2016 producer is very pleased with the choice of the venues for the 2016 ESC Opening ceremony, Euroclub and Eurovillage:

The choice of the Stockholm City Hall for the opening ceremony and the Royal Garden for the Eurovision Village feels just right, but what really stands out is the unique location of the EuroClub, at one of Stockholm’s most beautiful places, at the waterfront in front of the Royal Palace. There will be magic.

The date for the 2016 Eurovsion Welcome Reception/Opening Ceremony is yet to be confirmed.

The 2016 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 10, 12 and 14 May at the Ericsson Globe Arena.
