Early on Monday morning, esctoday.com launched the '12 to go poll' to get an indication of which songs that will participate at the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest are the most popular with just twelve entries left to be revealed. Early indications are that of the 31 entries now known, Switzerland and Iceland are the two most popular with readers of esctoday.com.

Of the 31 Eurovision Song Contest entrants known so far, we asked readers and members of esctoday.com to vote for their favourite. Remember, this is not a prediction poll like our annual BigPoll, this is a quick snapshot of readers to see which song they like the most so far.

Switzerland have registered 11% of all votes so far. Iceland are in second place with 10%. The strength of this is actually rather astounding. Two songs out 31 have gathered almost more than one in five votes! Could it be that the Eurovision Song Contest is heading to Geneva or Reykjavik in 2009?

Just behind the top two in the poll, we find Turkey and Norway, each with 8% of the votes cast. Greece sits in 5th place with 7% of the votes, Israel are in sixth place with 6%. Ireland, without a doubt, the entry with the most media coverage so far this year is sharing joint 7th position with Poland. With 4% of the vote, sharing 9th place, is the United Kingdom, Uraine and Malta.

At the bottom, failing to register more than 0.5% each, things are looking bleak at this stage for Belarus, Croatia, Estonia and Moldova.

Make sure you add your vote before the poll closes this evening. Click here to open the 12 to-go-pollor to see the results if you have already voted.
