RTVSLO, the national Slovenian broadcaster has confirmed to ESCToday that Slovenia will yet again opt for a national final in order to select its Eurovision act and entry for Eurovision. Hence EMA will be back in 2016!
The Slovenians will select their Eurovision representative and song via its traditional Eurovision national selection EMA scheduled to be held next February (date to be confirmed). RTVSLO has told ESCToday that it will be revealing more information regarding EMA 2015 and its format in due course. The broadcaster is expected to publish the rules and regulations for EMA 2015 shortly.
In 2015 Maaraya won the 2015 EMA edition and flew the Slovenian flag in Vienna at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest with their entry Here for you.
Slovenia debuted at the ESC in 1993 with IX Band and is yet to win the envent.
The 2016 ESC is scheduled to be held on 10, 12 and 14 May at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.
