As ectoday.com wrote yesterday, there had been serious problems with the ticket sale procedure for the Eurovision Song Contest 2003.

The Latvian Broadcaster LTV has chosen the company Ticket Service to distribute the tickets of the Eurovision Song Contest 2003. It is the only Latvian company which has made a special ticket booking system available on the internet. As we previously stated, there are 6095 seats in the venue, Skonto Hall, and 4399 are available to the public. 1696 seats are reserved for European Broadcasting Union, official fan clubs, journalists, etc. or adapted for the needs of technical equipment.

The activity of booking was extremely high in the first days after a fan had discovered the site, more than 2000 reservations were made in a day and almost all the seats are now booked. Some fans found that their tickets had been cancelled.

Confirmations have been sent out to some fans, while others are still waiting. Those with confirmed tickets must make payment before 15th January or the reservation is cancelled.

A second sale of tickets may be made after 15th January for those which have not been claimed.

Some Eurovision fan clubs received complaints about the ticket sale procedure in the meantime, although it's unknown on what these complaints are based.
