The Common Linnets, who represented The Netherlands at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen, gave an exclusive live concert on 15 October for the German broadcaster NDR 2 in celebration of the release of their new album II. The concert will be aired on 9 November.

The Common Linnets, centered around Dutch artist Ilse DeLange, gave an exclusive stars@ndr2-Konzert concert in NDR’s Rolf-Liebermann-Studio, Hamburg, Germany. In front of some 400 lucky spectators, the bluegrass and pure country band gave a taste of their latest album, II, the follow-up to their successful debut album. During the NDR 2 Soundcheck Live-Radiokonzert, The Common Linnets of course also performed their huge European hit Calm after the storm, with which the band won the second place at the grand final of the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The NDR 2 Soundcheck Live-Radiokonzert will be aired on Monday 9 November from 21.00 CET on NDR 2.

The Common Linnets are an initiative of beloved Dutch singer Ilse DeLange, as a tribute to her passion for country music. Currently, the band also consists of J.B. Meijers, Jake Etheridge and Matthew Crosby.

At the Eurovision Song Contest 2014, the band represented the Netherlands with the song Calm after the storm, winning the first semi-final and eventually gaining a respectable second place with 238 points. Although Ilse DeLange’s musical partner at Eurovision and guest-Linnet Dutch artist Waylon decided to focus on his solo-career, Calm after the storm became a huge European hit leading to fame for the group throughout the continent. The Common Linnets continue to enjoy their success, as their latest album II proves.
