Douwe Bob, who will represent The Netherlands at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm, Sweden, was a guest in the Dutch cultural TV-show Opium yesterday evening, Thursday 22 October 2015. The young artist talked about ballet, his upcoming Eurovision-participation, and performed his song Pass it on.
Douwe Bob was welcomed by host Cornald Maas, who is also the Dutch commentator of the Eurovision Song Contest and Eurovision-expert, in his cultural TV-show Opium. Douwe Bob was also greeted by musical cabaret duo Yentl en De Boer, who wrote a special Eurovision-song for him.
The Dutch singer was then followed during his visit of the Nationale Opera & Ballet, where he watched the performance of Giselle, in which his best friend Chanquito van Hoeve has a main role. Douwe Bob talked about ballet and the art of dance with Cornald Maas. Afterwards, Douwe Bob performed his single Pass It On live in Opium.
Douwe Bob also talked a little bit about his upcoming Eurovision performance, focusing mainly on stage-presentation:
I’m not planning on dancing at Eurovision!
However, the singer, who is working on his Eurovision-performance, said that he could learn a lot about stage-presentation from his friend Chanquito, who made the choreography for one of Douwe Bob’s music-video’s.

Douwe Bob Posthuma (Amsterdam, 1992) is a young country and rock & roll-singer from The Netherlands, who rose to fame after winning the first edition of the music-competition De Beste Singer-Songwriter Van Nederland (The Best Singer-Songwriter Of The Netherlands) in 2012. Since then, Douwe Bob became one of the rising stars of the Dutch music-scene.
He sung the duet Hold me with Anouk (Eurovision 2013), and has released two albums: Born in a storm and Pass it on, both to critical acclaim and commercial success. Douwe Bob was internally chosen by Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS to represent The Netherlands at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm, Sweden. His Eurovision-entry is likely to be presented in February 2016.
