At the beginning, Paul Oscar's in the 1997 Eurovision Song Contest i sperformed again… seem like it was not his final dance after all. Stjornin from 1990 follow right after with Eitt lag enn. Those are only short snippets of the songs… now we hear Tell me! from 2000 and Nej eda ja from 1992. Silvia Night's Congratulations follow right after – in Icelandic this time. The next song is Gledibankinn, Iceland's first song back in 1986. Now Selma's All out of luck from 1999, Iceland'd most succesful entry so far. And that concludes the opening medley, which is very well received.

1. Davíð Þorsteinn OlgeirssonIn your dreams

The singer has very boyish charm when sitting at the piano and performing his song. The intro of the song has been slightly edited so that it sounds less like Amy Winhouse's Back to black. Saxophones have been added to the arrangement but nevertheless this entry sounds a lot like the Beach Boys.

2. Páll RósinkranzGef mér von

It's time for the winner of the very first heat back in October! Although the performance has only slightly changes, it is more classy this time. Páll's voice suit the song, which seems to be a bit slowe than at the beginning, very well. Nevertheless, it can be doubted if Gospel would be the right choice for the Eurovision Song Contest.

3. EurobandiðFullkomið líf

One of the favourites tonight. The performance is very professional and the outfits and the choreography better than in the semi final. Nevertheless, in English the song has somehow lost its hookline but the different arrangement makes the whole song a bit more interesting. Nevertheless, the whole act is a bit over-the-top.

4. Ragnheiður GröndalDon't wake me up

This song has a very special feeling, we have probably never heard a song of this style in the Eurovision Song Contest. Ragnheiður's performance is again flawless and very original with the various gimmicks she brought on stage – this time she is lying on the green grass. This is very classy and manages to mix old-fashioned and modern elements.

5. Mercedes Club – Ho, ho, ho, we say hey, hey, hey

Another favourite. The performance is still the same, but the outift of the lead singer has changed. Although the song is catchy, live the vocals are far from flawless which makes it pretty hard to listen to it. In the 1990s this would probably be a revolution, but in these we have already seen so much in the contest…

6. BaggalúturHvað var það sem þú sást í honum?

The song gets more up-tempo in every heat and the outfits get more modern. Surprisingly, the lead vocals are a bit flat this time and the whole act lacks some appeal. The instrumental solos are a bit over the top. What did you see in him means the title – and we would really like to know that.

7. Birgitta Haukdal & Magni ÁsgeirssonNúna veit ég

This time, Birgitta perfroms again. She has chosen a very weird black outfit this time that doesn't suit her at all. As a duet, the song sounds completely different, less dramatic but nevertheless it's a strong ballad. This entry could sound equally good in English.

8. Dr. Spock Hvar ertu nú?

As this is the wildcard entrant, this song is already performed for the fourth time in Laugardagslögin. This act gets weirder every time, but the audience seems to enjoy. Could well be a surprise winner.
