Cyprus: CyBC will most likely opt for an internal selection for Stockholm

CyBC, the national Cypriot has confirmed to ESCToday that it will more than likely opt for an internal selection in order to select the 2016 Eurovision entry and act. The broadcaster will reveal more details regarding the mechanism it will use to select its Eurovision entry for Stockholm in due course.

Cyprus selected its Eurovision entry and act via a national selection. John Karayiannis represented Cyprus at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest with his entry One thing I should have done.

The 2016 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 10, 12 and 14 May at the Ericsson Arena in Stockholm.

Cyprus debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1981 with Island and is yet to win the event. The country achieved its best placing in the contest in 1981 with Anna Vissi, in 1997 with Hara and Andreas and in 2004 with Lisa Andreas when it came 5th in the competition.
