What nobody expected, happened indeed: When the deadline for submitting songs to the Greek final was surpassed December 2, the broadcaster ERT had received between 130 and 140 songs. By accepting all mail dated December 2 or earlier, this amount increased to incredible 243 songs.

The final amount of 243 entries means that the interest in the Greek national final has increased considerably since the 2002 final.

The jury selecting the final ten songs is among other names composed of two earlier Greek/Cypriot participants in the Eurovision Song Contest: Evridiki (Cyprus 1992 & 1994) and Paschalis (Greece 1977). The last five jury members are the following: Dafni Bokota, Giorgos Katsaros, Iro Trigoni, Johny Kalimeris and Antonis Andrikakis.

The shortlist containing the ten entries of the Greek national final, will be made public by ERT tomorrow. According to Eurovision Greece, six of the names which will be announced on the upcoming press conference will be the following: Sabrina, Manto, Lakis Papadopoulos, Alexandros Hantzis, Chrtistos Giannopoulos and Marian Georgiou.
