RTCG, the Montenegrin broadcaster has confirmed to ESCToday that the Montenegrin boyband Highway Trio will represent Montenegro at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest.

Highway Trio will be flying the Montenegrin flag in Stockholm next year. The boys have been selected via an internal selection by RTCG.

Highway Trio is a boyband composed by 3 Montenegrin male singers. They competed in the X-Factor Adria music show earlier this year.

Montenegro entered the Eurovision family back in 2007 and is yet to win the event. The country has a tradition of selecting its Eurovision act and entry via an internal selection. In 2015 Knez flew the Montenegrin flag in Vienna with his entry Adio.

The 2016 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 10, 12 and 14 May at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm.
