The music producer Fernando Martins has announced the title of his song to be presented at Festival da Canção. The group Big Hit will sing 'Por ti Portugal' which will be an uptempo song.

This is the first title and the first few details to be known about a songby one ofthe ten producers invited by RTP to take part at the forthcoming Portuguese national final. The group Big Hit was created especially for the occasion and consists of Pedro Mimoso, Luís Pacheco, Gonçalo Medeiros and Carlos Coincas and the song will be uptempo, revealed in first hand to our site. This is all we can reveal for now because the song itself will be kept in "secrecy" till the day of the show.

The lyricist will be João Baião and the composers are still to be announced because the final arrangements are still being made. Two of band members have previous connections to the Portuguese national final. Gonçalo Medeiros was one of the finalists of Operação Triunfo back in 2004 and fought for a ticket to Istanbul with Novo e clássico. He ended up doing backing vocals for Sofia Vitória on Foi magia. Carlos Coincas competed twice in the nineties and was the author of Sei quem sou (Portugal) runner-up in 2006.

Fernando Martins produced last year's "Ai de quem nunca cantou" sung by Teresa Radamanto, who placed second at Festival da Canção. Esctoday.com wishes to thank Fernando Martins for his availability.
